About the Dentist
Christina Iannessa, DMD, originally a resident of Baden , PA , received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh .
Following Dr. Christina Iannessa's graduation from college, she went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh's, School of Dental Medicine. Throughout her dental school career, Dr. Iannessa led numerous outreach projects including providing education programs and free dental screenings for the Family Support Centers of Allegheny County , UPMC Community Initiatives, Early Head Start Programs, Pittsburgh Urban League, Pittsburgh Harlequins, Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures, Special Olympics, Healthy Athletes, and many others. She also was the Coordinator for the American Dental Association's “Give Kids a Smile Day” at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Dental Medicine. Do to all of Dr. Iannessa's tremendous academic and volunteer work; she earned numerous awards including the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Student Award, American Dental Education Association's Listerine Preventative Dentistry Scholarship, Pierre Fauchard Academy Scholarship, and Owen Moore Scholarship.
Dr. Iannessa's enthusiasm for pediatric dentistry led her to Women & Children's Hospital / State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine for Post-Doctoral training in Pediatric Dentistry. While serving as Chief Pediatric Dental Resident, her volunteer work continued by working with the Special Olympics of Western New York and the University at Buffalo's Department of Community Dentistry where she performed various outreach projects including Early Head Start Screenings, Pre-School Programs, and etc. She also was a clinical instructor for the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Buffalo's School of Dental Medicine.
Following the completion of Dr. Christina Iannessa's residency at the Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo in June of 2007, she moved back to Pittsburgh to work in private practice. Since moving back she continues to be involved in the community and supports “Give Kids a Smile Day” at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Dental Medicine. She currently resides in Sewickley with her husband and their dog Molar.
Dr. Christina Iannessa is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is licensed to practice in New York and Pennsylvania. She is also certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Dr. Iannessa is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Western PA Dental Society, and the Beaver Valley Dental Society.
